Jogle 2005

The 'Jogle' is an annual event kindly run by the Barnsley Branch of the Morris Minor Owners Club. The task is simple; Meet up at John O Groats in your Minor*, then drive it to Lands End, within 24 hours.

In last years Jogle we took NRS 861 to raise money for charitry. With our black Morris gone this time we were using 'CRG 263C'

Finish!

At 5:05AM on Wednesday morning CRG 263C rolled into the Lands End car park, 18 hours after leaving John O' Groats! This was 4 hours quicker our attempt last year and was good enough to finish 4th, a result even more impressive given that two of the cars that finished in front were modified Minors with 1275cc engines (ours is a bog standard 1098cc). Of all the cars that started (15 Morris Minors, 1 Morris Ital and 1 Volvo S40*) all made it to Lands End within 24 hours, proof that the Morris Minor is still alive and kicking!

...and then a Mazda MX-5

* interestingly, on the entry forms at least, there is no mention of what vehicle you can use for the Jogle. Indeed, last year a Mini and Morris Marina where amongst the starting grid. So once I graduate from uni and get my Mazda RX-8/Nissan 350z/Honda S2000 etc. I'll have to enter with that >:D
